Sainte Hermine is a small friendly market town, full of history and ready for the future.
It's 17th century chateau is built on the ruins of an ancient fortress, whilst the nearby business park is a major attraction bringing investment into the area.
The town centre is dominated by some glorious old buildings and an impressive memorial to Georges Clemenceau who spent his childhood here.
There are a wide variety of shops, bars and restaurants to suit all tastes, the village market takes place every Friday.
Whilst providing its own range of facilities, Ste Hermine is only 15 minutes from Lucon to the south, Fontenay-le-Comte to the east, and La Roche sur Yon, the capital of the Vendee, to the west. Miles of superb sandy beaches are under 45 minutes away.
The Vendee is well known for its sunny climate. Ste Hermine is ideally located in the heart of the sud-Vendée a few minutes from the autoroute (A83) giving easy access from Nantes airport in under 45 minutes; the beautiful city of La Rochelle and it's airport are 45 minutes south.
